Frequently Asked Questions: Logging In

What is my password?

Your password is your key to accessing your patron account online or through the telephone renewal line. You can change your password online once you have logged on to your patron account, or you can ask your local library staff to change your password in your record. If you would like help doing it online, local library staff can also walk you through making the change online.

What is my account ID

This is the barcode number on your library card. You will need to enter all 14 digits of the number for your Account ID. Do not enter spaces between digits.

Why can't I log in?

...to my Patron Account?

Problems logging in are often caused by simple keying errors or by leaving the Caps Lock button on, or having the Num Lock button off.

Assuming your barcode and password are correct, your browser's cookie settings could be preventing you from logging in. Make sure that your browser is set to accept cookies (see below).

Your local library can reset your password for you.

...to a database?

When you attempt to log in to a database, instant "session timed out" messages and blank screens could indicate that your browser's cookie settings may be preventing you from logging in. Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies. You should also try to clear your browser's cache.
