Programming Kits

The Washington County Cooperative Library Services Outreach Program has the following kits intended for group or one-on-one interaction with older adults.
If you wish to reserve any of these kits, please call 503-648-9785 and indicate the library where you would like to pick up the kit. Please return the kits to your local library. Kits normally circulate for 3 weeks, but it is possible to extend the loan period.
Here is a brief description of kits available:
Remembering Kits
Remembering Kits are most effective when used in a group setting. These one-hour program kits include slides and/or video presentation designed around one particular theme. Each kit also includes a cassette tape of music with sing-along booklets, activities, and a variety of objects with shapes, textures or scents which add another dimension to the sight and sound of the program. Each kit also includes a manual which gives useful ideas to the program director and a list of additional resources. These kits come in a blue and yellow duffel bag. Themes include:
Mini Kits
These kits are designed for a shorter program series with a large or small group. They include a slide and/or video presentation, handouts, leader's guide and other subject related items. Themes include:
"SLIDEAS" - Slide Ideas
Each binder includes 4 programs of 20 slides each, accompanied by a script to read along as each slide is projected. The script includes discussion questions, program ideas and suggested resources. Themes include:

Visit Kits
These Visit Kits can be used one-on-one by volunteers, caregivers, family and staff. Each kit includes a visit card, instruction sheet, and a prop. It also includes information from the manual "Time Well Spent." Themes include:
