4:00 PM to 8:00 PM - West Slope Community Library: Gather your friends and meet up at the library for a fun evening of gaming!Every final Tuesday of the month, adults and teens are invited to drop by and play through our stack of games. Try a hot new card game like Love Letter, a heavy strategy game like Puerto Rico, or a cooperative game like Pandemic. Or, you can bring your own game to play and share.Each month, we will feature a different game in the middle of the session, which we will play together as a group to help everyone learn the rules. This month, as part of Banned Books Week, we will provide the controversial game Cards Against Humanity for participants to play and talk about.No registration required.

Entry forms with full guidelines will be available atthe main library and Murray-Scholls Branch and online at http://www.beavertonlibrary.org/teens in the Events &Contests section starting Wednesday, October 1. To enter, simply write a shortstory (1,000 words max.) using the provided prompt. There will be $100, $50,and $25 prizes for the top three winners in both middle and high schooldivisions. Submit your entries at the Murray-Scholls Branch or the teen desk atthe main library by 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22. Winners will beannounced on Friday, November 7. Middle School Prompt – Grades 6-8:Pick up a random object in theroom where you are sitting – write a short story from the point of view of thisobject.High School Prompt – Grades 9-12:Overhear a random snippet of a conversation – it could be on the bus, onthe street, at a store or anywhere! Use this snippet as a prompt to write ashort story.
