September is Library Card Sign-up Month! We are hosting a giveaway to honor the occasion. Enter for a chance to win a special edition mini tote that you can use to share your library love wherever you are in Washington County and beyond!

    Thanks for joining our library community! New cardholders will automatically be entered when they get a general card at the library. You can get more entries when you refer friends! See "How to refer a friend" section for more info.

     

    Current cardholders

    Thanks for being a part of our community! Whether you've been a cardholder for a month or many years, we're so happy that you're here.

    You can enter to win a mini tote when you refer a friend to get a general library card. The more friends you refer, the more chances you have to win! Just tell your friend to write your name and contact info on the entry form when they get a card. See "How to refer a friend" section for more info.

    How to refer a friend

    1. Tell a friend (who doesn't have a WCCLS library card) they're missing out!

      The library has something for everyone. Tell a friend all the reasons you love having a library card. Not sure where to begin? See "Perks of having a library card" for talking points.

    2. Tell your friend to get a card at one of 16 libraries.

      WCCLS partners with 16 libraries across Washington County — your friend can go to the location closest to them! New cardholders need to bring a photo ID and verification showing they live in Washington County. They can fill out an application at the library or bring a completed form with them.

    3. Ask your friend to enter you into the drawing.

      Remind your friend to put your name and contact info (phone or email) on the entry form when they get their new library card. WCCLS will randomly draw 100 winners. Good luck!

    4. Repeat as many times as you'd like.

      Remember, the more friends you refer, the more chances you have to win! 

    Perks of having a library card

    A WCCLS library card gives you access to 1.4 million books and other items in the shared collection. But wait, there's more. Tell your friends how awesome it is having a library card. 

    • "I've saved so much money with my library card!" Tip: Ask library staff for the exact amount you've saved next time you're at the library.
    • "You can borrow up to 100 items at the same time."
    • "Save up to $142 in annual admissions fees for one adult when you use Adventure Pass!"
    • "You can read current news, try a new recipe, and play Wordle with New York Times All Access."
    • "Stream a new movie or show for free when you use Kanopy."

    Important dates and details

    • September 1: First day to enter giveaway
    • September 30: Last day to enter giveaway
    • October 8: Winners will be notified
    • October 15 to 31: Winners can pick up totes at their local library

    Eligibility: Entrant must obtain or currently have a general library card. Entrant must live in Washington County, Oregon. Winners will be chosen at random. Winners must be able to pick up their prize at their local library. Library staff, board members and their families are not eligible for prizes.

    Two lucky tote winners will also win a tour of the WCCLS warehouse!
