Jim Gill’s concerts are an active blend of music and play. He bangs out energetic rhythms on his banjo while encouraging everyone to clap, jump, dance and even sneeze along. His unique approach to music is based on the idea that family play is more important to young children than music alone. Jim’s music play creates a family room atmosphere in each and every concert hall he visits!

Jim Gill is an award-winning musician and author, as well as as child development specialist.

More about early learning

Music and play are extremely important early learning concepts. Many childhood educators would go so far as to say that play is the primary business of young children. Kids learn a lot about language and the reading process simply by playing and singing!
