Art of the Story Festival: Steven Henegar

Following COVID-19 preventative directives to limit large community gatherings, especially those targeted to adults ages 60+, WCCLS has decided to cancel the 2020 Art of the Story Festival.

Teller Steven HennegarMidwestern storyteller, Steve Henegar, celebrates the wonderful variety of stories that we use to share our lives. He calls up the everyday and the fantastic to discover feelings and experiences that connect us all: Truth & Lies for all occasions.

Steven grew up in a family that told stories, creating that shared memory that binds us together. Performances blend the wry conversation of family storytelling with the focused energy and incisive images drawn from a decade in theater and wrapping around a lively mix of personal experience, original fiction, and traditional American stories.

As an artist-in-residence, Steven founded the Piedmont Storytelling Festival and formerly directed the storytelling program for Stagebridge, America’s longest running senior theater company in Oakland, CA. He performs across the country, in numerous acclaimed festivals from the Bay Area Storytelling Festival to the Exchange Place at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee  You can follow Steven at:
