3:00 PM to 5:00 PM - Cedar Mill Library: Need help getting your digital photos organized, adding an app to your smartphone or updating your email contacts? Cedar Mill Library offers drop-in Technology Open Lab twice a week. It is perfect for getting started with basic computer skills and working with devices like tablets and smartphones.Technology Open Lab meets on Tuesday mornings, 10 am – Noon and Thursday afternoons, 3-5 pm. in the upstairs meeting room. Volunteers and staff will be available to answer questions. Bring your own computer, tablet, smart phone or e-reader with you to get assistance or use one of our laptops to practice. No registration is required, but there is limited space each session. For more information please ask at the Adult Reference Desk.
6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - Cedar Mill Library: Teens and tweens will learn how to make a robot move, avoid obstacles, react to lights and more during our Finch coding class. Participants will use Scratch or Snap software to make the robot do their bidding. Work with teams to improve your programming skills. For ages 11-18. Registration required. 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM - Cedar Mill Library: The Sympathizer is a sweeping epic of love and betrayal. The narrator, a communist double agent, is a half-French, half-Vietnamese army captain who arranges to come to America after the Fall of Saigon. While building a new life with other Vietnamese refugees in Los Angeles he secretly reports back to his communist superiors in Vietnam. You are invited to join the Owl Book Group for a great book discussion held monthly in the library's 2nd floor Lewis Community Room.
