This year's Summer Reading theme "Level Up at Your Library" demonstrates how patrons can play, learn, and foster friendships at their local libraries. With this theme in mind, entrants created artworks for this year's WCCLS Teen Art Contest.

First place winner Angelize A., an 11th grader and patron of Hillsboro Public Library, Brookwood, tells us that,

“This artwork represents knowledge, fun, and community. When one of our characters peeks through the door, they discover a world of activities, along with a friend offering a warm welcome!”

As the grand prize winner, Angelize received a $200 Amazon gift card and the opportunity to feature their artwork on WCCLS' Facebook and Instagram along with their fellow contest winners.

Congratulations to the other three winners! See what they have to say about their winning artworks below.

Second place winner Adalyn R., 8th grader, Forest Grove City Library

2025 Teen Art Contest second place artwork created by Adalyn R.

“In this artwork, someone is heading to the library after reading a lot of books. They have leveled up their skills in what they understand in the real and academic world. I used colored pencils to color the picture and the picture is a realistic picture. I included the Forest Grove Library because the theme is ‘Level Up At Your Library’.”

Third place winner Inchara S., 8th grader, Cedar Mill Library

2025 Teen Art Contest third place artwork created by Inchara S.

“My art piece represents how there is a vast universe of novels that people of all ages can read and enjoy. The girl in the piece is continuously climbing a staircase, trying to get hold of new books, as she is trying to level up from her current potential.”

Honorable mention Madeline G., 11th grader, Beaverton City Library

2025 Teen Art Contest honorable mention artwork created by Madeline G.

“Digital art piece of an astronaut girl reading in space. The main color is pink, with white and purple accents.”
