Storytime with Migrant Farmworker Families
WCCLS partnered with Hillsboro Public Library, visiting two camps for migrant farmworkers and signing kids up for HPL’s Summer Reading program in June. Every child received a bag containing a book to keep, craft supplies and activities. Staff has continued visiting migrant camps each week in July to conduct storytime in English and Spanish. About 35 to 40 kids attend storytime, which also includes crafts, songs, games and more book giveaways.
